Some of the moments that have shaped WN Bull the years, including our long-standing role in State Funerals for New South Wales.
1892 — WN Bull Funerals founded, beginning our long association with Sydney and the Catholic Church.
1938 — Entrusted by the Catholic Church to arrange the funeral of a distinguished Bishop.
1959 — Arranged a State Funeral for the Hon. John Joseph Cahill, the only NSW Premier to have died in office — one of the most significant services in our history.
1986 — John and Agnes Harris take ownership, revitalising the business with a renewed focus on service and craftsmanship.
1993 — Entrusted with the respectful re-interment of the Venerable Mary MacKillop.
2002 — Arranged the State Funeral of war hero Sir Roden Cutler VC.
2010 — Ownership transitions to InvoCare, continuing WN Bull's legacy with the security of national support.
2012 — Celebrated 120 years of service, including the restoration of founders William and Mary Bull's graves.
2017 — Marked our 125th anniversary with a Mass of Thanksgiving at St Mary'sCathedral, Sydney.
2020–2021 — Adapted with care through the COVID-19 pandemic, introducing live-streaming and alternative memorial options so families could stay connected despite restrictions.
2022 — Celebrated 130 years of service, with our archives dating back to 1892preserving the company's rich history.
2025 — Sponsored the Christmas Carols at St Mary's Cathedral, continuing ourtradition of community partnership.
2026 — Now more than 134 years since our founding, we continue to sponsor Cathedral fundraising and community initiatives, honouring the vision of William and Mary Bull.
Our team has a reputation for providing funeral services with dignity, discretion and integrity. That reputation was built over decades, including twenty-five years of shared leadership between John Harris and Patsy Healy, who together shaped the culture, training and community relationships that define WN Bull today.
